Lisa Neely
Ballet Instructor
Lisa began her ballet training at the age of 2 ˝ in her native Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her training continued with Fort Worth’s Gayle Corkery, where she also studied jazz with Dian West. Her later training came from Nathalie Krassovska, Dr. Lisa Fusillo, Janice LaPointe Crump, and Hugh Nini in Ballet, Leslie Jabsen in Contemporary, Gloria Whetstone in Tap and Karen Bower Robinson in Modern. She has taken Master Classes from Edward Villella, Harold Nicholas, Buster Cooper, and Arthur Mitchell. While a student, she has performed at numerous venues, including Mayfest and Octoberfest. She danced professionally with Fort Worth Ballet, Denton Civic Ballet, Ballet Jeunesse, Dance Fusion, Jazz City Dance Force, LakeCities Ballet Theatre and Amanda Stone Dancers. She has danced “Sugar Plum Fairy”, “Arabian”, “Russian”, “Snow” and “Flowers” in Nutcracker, “Carabosse” in Sleeping Beauty, “Taglioni” in Pas de Quatre, and the title roles in Giselle and The Snow Queen. She has choreographed for Denton Civic Ballet, Dance Fusion, and numerous competition routines, one of which won third place overall at Dance Makers Nationals. Lisa also participated in a special two hour documentary for cable television about the intricacies of pointe work and has written a complete ballet syllabus still in use locally.
